For the last few weeks i've had a problem getting fs2020 to shut down completely I notice it when i want to go back. As a result when i try to start it up again the next time i get the sim is already running message that won't go away

If i shut the sim down using the quit to desktop option, i get the are you sure you want to exit.

Just recently every time i exit/close msfs2020 using the menu system (return to main menu then return to desktop) msfs disappears from the screen but its icon remains on the task bar and i find that msfs2020 remains listed in the task manager as running and high on cpu usage As such i cannot run.
